Jesus: Rich in power

All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made. – John 1:3 (ESV)

He is the radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint of his nature, and he upholds the universe by the word of his power. – Hebrews 1:3 (ESV)

Jesus: Rich in love

1. Grace Makes you rich

2. Grace Makes you Generous

Guidelines for Grace Giving:

1. Follow through on good intentions

You’ve heard “It’s the thought that counts? Sometimes its NOT the thought that counts. You may have good intentions, but if the thought is going to count, then actions have to speak louder than words. What you desire to do must actually be match with the doing. – Kevin DeYoung

“What do you think? A man had two sons. And he went to the first and said, ‘Son, go and work in the vineyard today.’ 29 And he answered, ‘I will not,’ but afterward he changed his mind and went. 30 And he went to the other son and said the same. And he answered, ‘I go, sir,’ but did not go. 31 Which of the two did the will of his father?” They said, “The first” – Matthew 21:28-31 (ESV)

2. Give according to your means

3. Give according to the principle of equality

So then, as we have opportunity, let us do good to everyone, and especially to those who are of the household of faith. – Galatians 6:10 (ESV)
